How to use Forex-Rates

To utilize the Forex-Rates plugin, follow these steps:

1. Ensure you are aware of the correct format for your request. For example, if you want to know the overall sentiment for the EUR/USD currency pair since January, you can ask, "What is the overall sentiment for the EUR/USD currency pair since January?"

2. The plugin will interpret your input and convert it into parameters that the Oanda API understands. For instance, "EUR/USD" corresponds to the "instrument" parameter, which should be passed as "EUR_USD". "Since January" corresponds to the "from_time" parameter, which needs to be in a specific format (e.g., "2023-01-01T00:00:00.000000000Z" for January 1, 2023).

3. If the "granularity" and "price" parameters are not specified in your request, the plugin will prompt you to provide these details to ensure accurate and relevant analysis. Default values can be used if you prefer not to specify.

4. Be mindful of the time-frame and granularity you choose, as a message that is too big may trigger an error. The plugin will provide clear instructions on how to avoid this error and what to do if it occurs.

5. Before fetching prices, the plugin will check if the Forex market is currently open. The Forex market operates 24 hours a day from 5 p.m. EST on Sunday until 4 p.m. EST on Friday. Outside of these hours, the market will be closed, and the API may not be able to fetch the latest prices.
